CFTC RULE 4.41 — HYPOTHETICAL OR SIMULATED PERFORMANCE RESULTS HAVE CERTAIN LIMITATIONS. UNLIKE AN ACTUAL PERFORMANCE RECORD, SIMULATED RESULTS DO NOT REPRESENT ACTUAL TRADING. ALSO, SINCE THE TRADES HAVE NOT BEEN EXECUTED, THE RESULTS MAY HAVE UNDER-OR-OVER COMPENSATED FOR THE IMPACT, IF ANY, OF CERTAIN MARKET FACTORS, SUCH AS LACK OF LIQUIDITY. SIMULATED TRADING PROGRAMS IN GENERAL ARE ALSO SUBJECT TO THE FACT THAT THEY ARE DESIGNED WITH THE BENEFIT OF HINDSIGHT. NO REPRESENTATION IS BEING MADE THAT ANY ACCOUNT WILL OR IS LIKELY TO ACHIEVE PROFIT OR LOSSES SIMILAR TO THOSE SHOWN.
Not advice. Trading Decisions Lab (“TDL”) makes Compass, a general-purpose charting indicator for TradingView. Compass and everything on this site are provided for educational and informational purposes only. Nothing here is investment, trading, tax or legal advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell any security, futures contract or option. Compass is not customized to any person’s finances or goals, TDL does not manage or direct any account, and you make every trading decision yourself. TDL is not registered as an investment adviser, broker-dealer, commodity trading advisor or futures commission merchant. Consider speaking with a licensed professional before you trade.
Risk. Trading involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone. Futures are leveraged, and you can lose more than your initial deposit. Options can expire worthless, and you can lose the entire premium paid; before trading options, read the Options Clearing Corporation’s Characteristics and Risks of Standardized Options. Only trade with money you can afford to lose.
How the backtest was made. Unless stated otherwise, all results on this site — including the $10,000 backtest, profit factors, win rates, drawdowns, the five robustness tests and the account checker — are hypothetical. They were produced by applying Compass’s published rules to historical data, with the benefit of hindsight: day-trade signals from Oct 1, 2021 to Sep 9, 2026 (the 1-minute Nasdaq-100 futures data ends Sep 9, 2026) and swing calls from May 20, 2022 to Aug 7, 2026 (last entry Jul 29, 2026). Day-trade signals are modeled on Micro Nasdaq-100 futures at a fixed one contract per signal for the whole period (sized for a $10,000 starting account), taking every signal, including occasional overlapping trades, with no compounding. Swing calls are modeled with historical option prices, buying at the ask and selling at the bid. Results include an estimated $3.50 per round trip for commissions and slippage on futures trades. They do not fully reflect real-world fills, spreads, liquidity, gaps, data errors, platform outages or taxes, and actual costs may be higher. Every statistic includes losing trades. Chart examples are selected illustrations from the same backtest. Live results will differ, possibly materially, and no backtest predicts future results.
Calculators and the account checker use only the numbers you enter and the backtest data described above. They are illustrations, not a prediction of how any account will perform. Prop firm rules, fees and drawdown methods vary and change; check your firm’s current rules. Mentions of prop firms, brokers or other companies are for information only and are not endorsements or partnerships. Using Compass does not guarantee passing any evaluation.
Reviews. The reviews shown are from paying members of TDL’s earlier indicator suites, not Compass. Reviewers were not paid or given anything for their reviews. Their experiences are individual and not typical, and you may not achieve similar results.
How Compass behaves. Compass is designed so that signals do not change after a bar closes. While a bar is still forming, a signal can appear or disappear; wait for the bar to close. No indicator is error-free. Compass may give incorrect or late signals and is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Founding Beta. Wave 1 has 500 seats. Access is free for 60 days and then ends; no card is collected and nothing is charged. Access is personal to the TradingView username you submit, may be revoked, and is provided as-is. Features, signals and the beta itself may change or end at any time. After the beta, Compass is planned to be offered on the TradingView Marketplace at about $35/month. Timing and price are plans, not promises, and depend on TradingView’s approval. One Founding Beta per person. Duplicate or newly created accounts used to restart the beta may be declined or removed.
Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, TDL and its owners, employees and agents are not liable for any trading losses, lost profits or other direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of Compass or this site.
Independence. TDL is an independent company. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by TradingView, Inc., any exchange, prop firm, bank or brokerage, including the founder’s current or past employers.
